The Babadook (2014), Horror Movie Synopsis - When Amelia (Essie Davis), a single mother faces her child who has a behavior disorder. Six years old Samuel (Noah Wiseman) has a problem with his fear of "monsters" before going to bed.

It turned out that what happened to Samuel added to Amelia's psychological burden after her husband's death 6 years ago. Samuel's suffering worsened when he read a book before going to bed, with the book title Mister Babadook.

Amelia realized that the reading entitled Mister Babadook was terrible, even she feels scared when she read Babadook's book. After deciding to throw Mister Babadook's book away, it turned out that it was too late. Amelia had read all the contents of Babadook's book. As a result Babadook has now come to haunt the family.

Mother-child relationship is a mainstay of the movie The Badabook which presents its own emotions. Psychological terrorism coupled with the threat of the appearance of a tall dark figure further strengthens the effects of its horror. Essie Davis's performance was very good by displaying a complicated character that seemed so struggling to continue to love her troubled son.
